Most of the skill is deciding what a wall can take before anything goes into it.
Real studs found and verified, not guessed at with a magnet. A 75″ TV on one stud is how screens end up on the floor.
Masonry bit and proper sleeve anchors. One shot per hole, because brick does not forgive a second try.
Slow start, right bit, pressure controlled so the glaze does not spider out from the hole.
Heat clearance and mantel height checked first. More on fireplace mounts.

Yes. Brick and stone need a masonry bit and proper sleeve anchors, and you get one attempt per hole. I have done brick fireplace mounts with full-motion arms.
A standard mount runs about an hour. Add roughly 45 minutes for in-wall wire concealment, more for brick or an awkward layout.
