TV Mounting in Laurel, MS

Laurel has the oldest housing stock I work in, and older houses do not mount like new ones. That is the whole difference.

Old houses are a different job

A lot of Laurel homes were built long before anyone thought about hanging a television. That changes almost everything about the install.

Plaster and lath does not behave like drywall. It cracks if you rush it, the framing behind it is often not on 16-inch centers, and a stud finder alone will lie to you. I scan and verify before the first hole.

Older brick and stone fireplaces are common here too. Brick will not take an in-wall run, so the whole job becomes about the anchoring, and the wires get concealed a different way.

Plaster or masonryQuoted

Laurel is about thirty minutes up Highway 11 and inside my service area, so there is no trip charge. Plaster and masonry get quoted after I see a photo, because those genuinely take longer.

Send a photo before I drive up

Laurel is far enough out that I would rather know what I am walking into. Text me a picture of the wall and, if it is an older home, a picture of the back of the TV.

That tells me the surface, the framing situation and the VESA pattern, and I can give you a real number before either of us commits to a day.

Common questions

Do you come to Laurel?

Yes. Laurel is about thirty minutes up Highway 11 and inside my thirty-mile service area. No trip charge.

Can you mount on plaster walls?

Yes, and it is worth having someone who has done it. Plaster cracks if you rush, and the framing behind older walls is often not on standard centers. I scan and verify before drilling. Plaster is quoted after I see a photo.

What about an old brick fireplace?

Common in Laurel. Brick will not take an in-wall wire run, so the work is all in the anchoring - masonry bit, correct sleeve anchors, one shot per hole. Wires get concealed another way.

Should I send a photo first?

Please do. For an older home, a photo of the wall and a photo of the back of the TV tells me the surface, the framing and the VESA pattern. Then I can quote a real number before I drive up.
